Hartlepool Marina

The £60 million Hartlepool Marina development is one of Europe’s largest. After 10 years of service the existing lighting was due for upgrade. Vision were enlisted to provide a more sustainable light source, whilst enhancing the area as one of Hartlepool’s most prized.

The development is one of the most modern in Europe. Most famously the Marina is home to Hartlepool’s Historic Quay, an award winning recreation of an 18th Century seaport. The Quay is home to the Trincomalee, Europe’s oldest floating Warship.

With further developments planned for the Marina, Hartlepool Council approached Vision to produce a lighting scheme for the residential areas to both enhance the seaside location, and save on energy and maintenance.

We were able to come up with a scheme which resulted in a 3:1 column ratio, whilst exchanging 70w sodium globe technology for 20w LED. The Vision Version 1 LED luminaires boast an 80+CRI, 4200K light source which vastly improves the overall feel in the area.

Allthough only a 20 luminaire scheme, replacing 3 columns with 1 has resulted in staggering energy savings of almost 4500 circuit watts, saving £2000.00 per annum.
